OPEN to VIEW, UNCONCEALED;
A journal of fashion and culture.
Bare is a global fashion, culture and arts magazine dedicated to the unadorned moment of truth, an ode to the raw beauty of realism and simplicity.
Here you will find imagery, artistry, and storytelling with no creative brief, no client, no shimmer, no patina, no retouch - no rules.
Our editorial team is based in stunningly disparate places. We live in Amsterdam, London, Barcelona, New York City, Berlin, Montana and Los Angeles. It is perhaps fitting that the theme of our second issue is inspired by journeys, physical and otherwise. Bare is far flung and global, curious about our world, committed through observing it through perpetual motion. Many of us are on planes and trains - and often.
That wondering, international spirit finds its way into the pages of issue 2, where artists, writers, stylists and photographers consider journeys of all kinds. The rumble of transit can be heard on these pages. Shadows from the passing sun mark interiors. Memories and myths are unleashed barreling down a bumpy road through India.
The photographers and writers in our second issue travel deep to deliver fresh perspective. Jem Mitchell dives underwater, Serge Leblon wonders underground. Courtney Zoffness follows. Gabriela Celeste explores portraiture and the ties that bind. Anna Palma weaves a table. Alexandra Valenti captures the rhythm of musician Linda Beecroft's creative landscape. Melissa Drier goes back in time for a bathrobe. Katie Crouch mans a speedboat. Andreas Ohlund and Maria Therese dance a slowsong. David Dunan considers beauty, Benjamin Vnuk pauses. Sandra Freij walks a tightrope, Padma Viswanathan shares a myth from the back seat in India. Courtney Saunders laments a lost hat.
Bare is independently published and owned.; Drop us a line. We'd love to meet for coffee.
